Primary Idiopathic Segmental Infarction of the Greater Omentum report of three cases & review of literature

Abstract
Primary idiopathic segmental infarction of the greater omentum is characterized by the appearance of an infarct in the greater omentum, usually in the dependent peripheral portion on the right side.
This disease has been known by various names, which is usually not diagnosed preoperatively,
but found unexpectedly on exploration of the abdomen.
The clinical findings are often similar to those of acute appendicitis. It differs, however, in
its rate of progression, resulting in an average delay of about 3 days before the patient seeks medical consultation.
It also differs from acute appendicitis in that localization of pain occurs promptly and appetite often is unaffected.
The author¢¥s present 3 cases and reviewed literatures briefly.
